Michael Kelly wins Philly Junior Silver tourney!
Michael Kelly earned a spot on CitySquash's Wall of Fame by wining the BU-13 title in Philly. Gabriel Garcia finished 4th in BU-13. The same weekend, Elaine Hualoto came in the 2nd place in the GU-13 at the Pryamid Bronze tourney, where Billy Fleurima was also a consol finalist in the BU-11. Well done, all!

Mentor-Mentee Bowling
Our recent mentor-mentee bowling event was a great success. With unlimited bowling and pizza, and surrounded by their mentors, our students were in seventh heaven! Many thanks to the mentors who joined us!

Andreina wins St. Luke's Silver tourney
CitySquashers had a great weekend at St. Luke's. Andreina Benedith won her second GU-15 tourney of the year; Melissa Garcia won the consols in the same draw. Michael Kelly finished 2nd place in the BU-15 and William Pantle reached the consols finals in the BU-13. Well done, all!

Maverick Capital Foundation hosts mock interviews
8th grade CitySquashers currently applying to private day and boarding schools visited Maverick Capital Foundation for an evening of mock interviews. It was a tremendous opportunity for our students as they prepare for their visits and interviews with schools in the months ahead. Thank you, Maverick!

Darrius Campbell wins Hackley Bronze tourney!
Darrius was already having quite a week when he won the Hackley Bronze tourney this past weekend - his first tournament win! In other results, Jose finished 4th in the BU-11; Jeremy and Bryson came in 5th and 6th place respectively in the BU-13; Mellba finished 5th in the GU-13. Go CitySquash!

Darrius Campbell is elected to student council at Blair Academy
Darrius Campbell, a CitySquash freshman at Blair Academy, was elected to his school's student council this week. Darrius is now among a long list of CitySquashers to have earned leadership positions at their various prep schools. Congratulations!

Terry Fox Run a great success
CitySquashers had a tremendous day at the Terry Fox Run. They raised over $1000 for cancer research, and ran the race with great spirit. Tenth grader Josue Triburcio was the first CitySquasher to pass the finish line, and Omar Castelan and Harrison Sebring were the first mentor-mentee pair to finish. Congratulations to them all! Special thanks to all the CitySquash mentors and friends who came out!

Andreina Benedith wins Chatham Silver tourney!
Andreina Benedith won her first ever tourney at Chatham this past weekend. A wonderful accomplishment for our budding squash star!

CitySquash hires two new staff members
This fall, CitySquash hired Esteban Espinal to serve as Squash Professional for the upcoming season. Esteban, the former pro at Club@800, ran CitySquash's summer camp before joining the CitySquash team full-time in September. Esteban brings a wealth of squash experience to our program, and we thrilled that our students have the opportunity to work with him! CitySquash is also excited to announce the creation of a new part-time position: The Director of Elementary School Academics. Domenica Beauford, a Fordham graduate who is currently earning her Masters in ESL, will oversee Book Clubs and academic sessions for our 4th and 5th grade students. Please join us in welcoming them to CitySquash!

Jocelyn McKenzie sets a new CitySquash record!!
Jocelyn McKenzie earned a national ranking of #9 in the GU-13 for the 2008-2009 season - the highest ranking any CitySquasher has ever received! Well done to her, she earned it!
